It's a phenomenal pleasure being a part of the
KBEAR family, now with NEW "country fresh" car air fresheners!
Radio and people have been passions of mine since I was a little dude. Mom got me hooked on talk radio while my Dad had me jammin' to Stevie Nicks, Dire Straits, Willie Nelson, and the Boss on long drives up to Fairbanks and back.
Music has had a tremendous impact on my life. Along with sports, I was highly active in choir growing up. Being part of the Martin Luther King Jr. Peace Choir and Alaska Children's Choir enabled incredible experiences, including performances at Carnegie Hall and the Vatican. No matter the genre of tune playing, I love tapping into the emotion and thought that drove the artist and apply it to my life.
That's easy to do with Country music. For the most part, each tune tells a great story. More importantly, Country stretches beyond the music. It's a culture, community driven, preaching love of our Country and those that protect it, hard work and hard play.
Speaking of, hope to see you out and about! If I'm not . . .
-spending time with my buddy Mater
-watching Yankee baseball
-watching Giant football
-taking in some MMA (Alaska Fighting Championship, UFC, Strikeforce, etc.)
-enjoying some pro wrasslin'
-grabbin' a cold one at Eddies
-listening to DJ Lefty spin tunes at the "World Famous"
-rocking a game of Madden on XBOX (gamertag is GmenAK, holla!)
-going for a long drive to clear the mind
-going nuts on some sushi
-catching a matinee after work
-late night ice skating in the dead of winter
-rockin' the beer/Beam gut
. . . then you and I are getting into trouble 10a-2p, weekdays on KBEAR 104.1 and kbrj.com. God bless America :-)
p.s. I do not endorse the "man step", despite tireless attempts by Zach Daniels to convince me otherwise!
