Diva DeAnna's Profile -- DJ
Well hello, my name is DeAnna and I work as the weekend Diva on KBEAR 104.1!

I LOVE COUNTRY MUSIC!!...And that's how is all began!

My passion for country music got the ball rolling for me. I can definitely say that I was a groupie and tried to get involved with as many KBEAR functions as I could. Then in 2000 I participated in our annual St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Radiothon. The following year I organized a fundraiser throughout East and arranged for the choir to sing during the radiothon. From there I continued to volunteer from time to time for different events that KBEAR hosted.

In 2003, during my senior year of high school, I attended the Kings Career Center for Radio and Television Productions. I thought prusing radio would be exciting so I called Matt Valley and asked if he would take me on as an intern, he happily agreed! I was fortunate to have several mentors and got a taste of most aspects of radio from broadcasting and production to traffic and promotions.

After my internship, I reaized I wasn't ready to part with the Anchorage Media Group so I asked Matt if he had any work I could continue to do. I started working overnights and then moved up with the morning show as the producer for the "Waking Crew." Because I had classes that were only offered in the morning applying to my degree at UAA, I had to leave the morning show and began working weekends.

I currently work Sunday mornings on KBEAR and for any other shift I am needed. I also recently started working in promotions full-time and love it! Now you'll see me at all of the KBEAR events!!

More About Me:

I'm orginally from Eagle River, Alaska but grew up as a "military brat" so we moved around a little bit. After my father retired my family decided to come back to Alaska and settle down. I planned to have moved by now but I'm still here and don't have any intensions of leaving anytime soon. I have a wonderful family and some of the best friends anyone could ask for. I'm also a proud mother of the cutest pomeranian named Quincy! Those little brown eyes just melt my heart.

And Now for some of my favorites!!

I absolutely love the color pink!

Sushi!! I love it and just really good tasting foods, especially ice cream, yum!

I love spending time with my friends and family going out and doing random things, like playing bingo!

I love the outdoors, particularly the summers. Camping, hiking and definitely fishing are among some of my favorite summertime activities. I love trucks and playing in the mud...as long as I know I can shower and priss when we're done.

I love shopping, especially when I find an awesome deal. Traveling is so much fun and I wish I could do it more often...looking forward to retirement!

I'm always interested in trying new things as long as it has nothing to do with snakes, insects, or reptiles. Yikes, I am scared to death of them!

My favorite movie of all time is "Fried Green Tomatoes." Although I don't have a lot of time to watch T.V. I love catching a few episodes of "Bridezilla," "Whose Wedding is it Anyway,"" I Propose," and "The Amazing Race."

My favorite genre of music is COUNTRY MUSIC!! Although I listen to a little bit of everything, I'm country at heart. Some of my favorite artist include: Pasty Cline, Martina McBride, Keith Urban, Reba McEntire, Faith Hill, Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Garth Brooks, and Big and Rich. I have so many favorites that it's hard to pick just one!

There are so many things that I'm interested in and love to do. One of my new favorites is singing karaoke and dancing! If you have never tired karaoke, you're missing out. I'm telling you, you will have so much fun!
