Here's a note from Patti Greene: "ACE ON THE RIVER BAND: Helping to raise money for breast cancer research and awareness, playing 5-9 pm Saturday, Oct. 11, at the VFW 9811 on Old Seward in Anchorage. Auction items and dinner. Ace On The River is Greg Purivs, Kevin Sherwood, Jason Wallis, Larry Wiltz, and Sam Womack. 9191 Old Seward Hwy 349-1671."
2. THE NUTHER BROTHERS (Michael Faubion and Tom Torvie ) will host the CHARLIE'S CLUB 25 OPEN MIC JAM ( corner of 4th & D, across from the bright yellow Sunshine Mall ) this Sunday October 12th from 5 - 8 PM.
Here's a note from Suzy Crosby: "The Mountain Waxwings (Suzy Crosby, Melanie Keenan, and Jessica Dudek) sat in with the Nuther Brothers on Sunday afternoon at Charlie’s Club 25 at 4th & D. The bro’s (Michael Faubion & Tom Torvie, plus pedal steel player Doug Brown) are some fine musicians in their own right, and great jammers to boot -- why at times it sounded so good you’d’ve thought we might have actually met each other before! We took Charlie up on his invite to come back & play some more music next Sunday, Melanie’s last day of fiddle playing for a while (she goes in for a shoulder ‘scope later that week). Come out and join the Nuther Brothers & the Mountain Waxwings this coming Sunday, Oct. 12, from 5 to 8 pm."
3. DAY JOB, featuring fiddlin' Keith Junot on guitar & vocals, will host the Spenard Jam at VFW 1685 ( 1200 W. 33rd Ave., 562-1685 ) this Sunday October 12th from 5 - 8 PM. No cover charge ( non-members sign in as guests of the band ).
4. HUMPY'S OPEN MIC JAM, hosted by JOHNNY UTAH, featuring Jared Woods on guitar & vocals, Justin Somaduroff on bass guitar & vocals, Dan Lesperance on guitar & vocals, & David Helzer on drums, will be held at Humpy's Great Alaskan Alehouse ( 610 W. 6th Ave., 276-2337 ) this Sunday October 12th from 8 - 11 PM. No cover charge.
5. OPEN MIKE JAM will be held at the Blues Central ( Chef's Inn, 825 W. Northern Lights, 272-1341 ) this Sunday October 12th from 8 PM - Midnite. No cover charge.
6. RUMRUNNER'S JAM, hosted by the TONY JAMES TRIO, will feature their jazz & more at Rumrunner's Old Towne Bar ( 4th & E, 278-4493 ) this Sunday October 12th from 8 PM - Midnite.

FULL TILT, featuring Alan Schmiedeberg on guitar, Jim Davis on tenor saxophone, Ken Jameson on bass guitar, & Sandy Heikes on drums, will perform their "...rock, soul, R&B, reggae, country, jazz, and miscellaneous..." as they host the "BLUEZ JAM NIGHT" at the Players House of Rock ( formerly the Fly By Night Club, 3300 Spenard Rd., 522-7625 ) this Sunday October 12th from 9 PM - 1 AM.
